Alternative Firing Workshop - Onsite
This 2-day, onsite workshop is intended for ceramicists with limited knowledge of Alternative Firing techniques or those who want a fresh perspective on these methods. The workshop will briefly demonstrate how to mix, apply, and burnish with Terra Sigillata. I will then cover my firing techniques, including Saggar firing and Raku firing using soluble metal salts and a combination of these methods.
Participants should bring 3 or 4 small pieces, 4”-6” made of a clay body that will withstand the thermal shock of the quick-fire process. Instructions on preparing your pieces will be sent to all participants after registration is completed. Lunch will be provided each day.
Dates: June 21 - 22nd, 2025
Time: 9 am - 4 pm
Location: 7421 Martin Rd.
